37th Byzantine Studies Conference

PANELS AND REGISTRATION WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE DEPAUL STUDENT CENTER
2250 N. Sheffield Ave., Chicago, IL

Dear Conference Participants,

It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to Chicago and to DePaul University for the 37th Byzantine Studies Conference.

It is an honor and pleasure to host a scholarly conference with such a distinguished history of intellectual engagement. Nearly 30 years have passed since the Byzantine Studies Conference was last hosted in Chicago. We are delighted to be able offer conference events at some of the city’s premier intellectual institutions - the Art Institute of Chicago and the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago.

The conference would not be possible without the generous support of DePaul University and Dean Charles Suchar of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. The Oriental Institute of Chicago, the Art Institute, and Tas Tousimis have also helped to make conference logistics much easier in these tough economic times.

We look forward to an exciting and stimulating conference. If you have questions or require additional information, please contact us at: info@bscdepaul2011.org.

With best wishes,

The Local Arrangements Committee:
Elena Boeck (chair, DePaul),
Walter Kaegi (University of Chicago),
Brian Boeck (DePaul),
Christina Nielsen (Art Institute of Chicago),
Heather Grossman (University of Illinois, Chicago)
